I introduce Good Wives, written by Louisa M. Alcott

"She was very happy. She put her arms round Meg and Amy, her dear sisters.
'Families are the most beautiful things in the world,' she said."

Good Wives
This story is about four sisters, Meg, Beth, Jo and Amy. They were very close sisters.
Meg got married first and left Mr and Mrs March's house. And she began to her new life with her husband, Mr. John Brooke. She sometimes felt sad because she loved her family and now she doesn't live together. But she also felt happy because she could live her husband happily although hur husband was not rich.
One day, she went shopping with her friends whose family was rich. They saw a very beautiful dress and her friend said, "Why don't we buy the dress?" Meg liked fashion and good clothes, and above all, she didn't want to be considered as the poor. So she bought the dress with her all money that she got from her husband. After she bought it, she suddenly was worried about it and how her husband thought about it. At home, Meg and her husband had a little quarrel because of the expensive dress, and after that they settles. Like this, at last even when they had quarrel, they lived together very happily.
As for Jo, she was spoken his mind from her best friend, Laurie. She was very confused and after that, she left for NY in order to stay away from him. At NY, she had very wonderful experiences, and she had good life. She met Professor Bhaer, who later became her husband.
And regardeing Amy, because of her nice and lovely charcters, she was given the letter from her Aunt's friend. The letter said that will Amy come to Europe with her Aunt's friend. She was so interested in Europe, so she went there together, of course she felt sad because she loved her family. In Europe, she also had good experiences and met the Jo's best friend, Laurie. He still couldn't forget Jo, and he cared about her words so much. To cheer him up, Amy took him to the sea and paint him. Gradually, they became close friends and finally, fell in love together.
On the other hand, Beth was the only person to live with her parents all the time without leaving home. Beth thought that spending with her family was the best happiness to her, so when her sisters left home, she felt sad.
While the other sisters left home and experienced something special and important to their lives, Beth gradually got sick and spent most of a day on the bed.
When Jo went back to home, it was difficult for Beth to play the piano, that is her favorite. Jo took Beth to the sea in order to get her better, but after that, Beth couldn't talk and eat at all. After, she passed away, and everyone felt very sad and cried, but the person who was the most being shocked was Jo. She felt lonely for a long time and couln'd write anything.
When she knew that Amy got married with her best friend,Laurie, she felt happy but couldn't celebrate them (100 persent 心の底から). Soon their wedding celemony was held at her house, and many people were invited the party at their home. Jo's feeling was very complicated at that time. Then suddenly Professor Bhaer came to her house. She was really happy to see him. And for the next few days, he came to her house and it made her forget the feelinng of loneliness. Actually, It made her notice that he was the important to her. After that, she and Professor Bhaer knew the mind each other, and got married.
They also lived happily same as other sisters. And Jo got her Aunt's large old house, and she and her husband made their school, which many student could learn regerdless of being rich or not.
They all got married and had different lives, but they were still very close sisters and family forever.

I like this book very much. And if you like this book, I recommend that you should read "A little woman" too. The book is also about this four sisters and what happened before this book. "A little woman" was also heart-warming story. I love this book, so I was happy to read "Good Wives" without knowing this is related to the book. I thought This book discribed the compliced-human-mind delicately. So, if you can't find new book to read, please read this book! Thank you!
